Oklahoma City September 7, 2018

Today, Friday, September 7, we drove into Oklahoma City with our first stop at the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum. We  were both filled with emotion as we walked through the rooms that told the story and the horror that the people of Oklahoma City faced that day in 1995.  And then there are stories of the rescue and recovery efforts that occurred  with help from outside agencies.  A memorial park outside the museum with 168 chair-like monuments depicting those killed arranged in a fashion to where these folks were located within the building.

And Jesus Wept

It was truly a museum worth going to and spending several hours.    From the museum we drove to Stockyard City.  Here there is a National Stockyard Exchange that apparently deals in stock selling and trading.

The “city” was an area with western wear stores and steak restaurants.  We had lunch at the Cattlemen's Steakhouse, and, yes, we had steaks and they were perfect.  When the waiter served the steaks he insisted that we cut into them to be sure the steaks were cooked as we preferred.  It has rained off and on most all day but the temperature is cooler.  Tomorrow we are moving on.
