This week we took the big plunge and purchased a new HP Pavilion g7 laptop computer. It came with Windows 8 installed. The laptop does not have a touchscreen. That’s ok because it will cut down on smears on the screen.
Windows 8 uses “live tiles” on the start screen very much like the tablet computers use. We have Nexus 7 tablets so we feel comfortable with the tiles. Now don’t get me wrong, there is still much to learn about using Windows 8, but after working with it for several hours, I think I like it.
When we are not traveling, I give computer instruction through the local senior center. A number of seniors have contacted me and have windows 8 and feel a bit lost. Having and learning more about windows 8 will help me to show them how to use their computers.
Right now I am using the new windows 8 computer to write this blog entry on windows live writer.
